Hear from Warden and Laws and Chris Jacobs!

Warden Jerry Laws
Warden Jerry Laws serves as the leader of Davidson Correctional Center, a minimum-custody, male re-entry facility focused on preparing offenders for successful reintegration into society. With nearly two decades of experience in North Carolina’s correctional system, Laws has risen through the ranks since beginning his career in 2006. He previously served as associate and acting warden at Davidson before being officially appointed by Secretary of Adult Correction Todd Ishee. Known for his professionalism and hands-on leadership, Warden Laws oversees all facility operations and supports rehabilitative programming, education, and work opportunities for approximately 250 men nearing release.

Chris Jacobs
Chris Jacobs is a current resident of Davidson Correctional Center who exemplifies the power of redemption and transformation. Sentenced to life in prison at the age of 16 for his involvement in a robbery that tragically resulted in a loss of life, Chris has spent the past two decades rebuilding his life with purpose and faith. During his incarceration, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry with a concentration in Crisis Counseling, equipping himself to serve others even behind prison walls. Granted parole in 2022, Chris now awaits a release date in the near future and is committed to using his story to inspire hope, accountability, and change. Davidson Prison Ministry is honored to welcome Chris as a guest speaker at this year’s fundraiser.
